Delete your Clarity account
Clarity: Dementia & Alzheimers, by Anthony Jackson (AJ Software)
The short version. Family members can delete their account inside the app in a few seconds. If you can't use the app, email us and we will do it for you.
Delete it in the app (quickest)
- Open Clarity on the phone you use to call.
- Go to Family calls (the screen with the Call button).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account, then confirm.
It happens straight away: your sign-in is removed and your phone is unpaired from every companion.
Or ask us to delete it
Email anthony@ajsoftwaredev.org with the subject “Delete my Clarity account”. Send it from the email address you signed in with (your Google or Apple account), or tell us your first name and the companion’s name so we can find you. A real person will delete it within 7 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in (the ID and email address Google or Apple gave us) and your first name: deleted immediately.
- Your pairings with companions: removed immediately, so nobody can be called from your account again.
- Messages, voice notes and photos you sent: already deleted automatically within 24 hours of sending.
- The call log (who called, when, for how long, never the call itself): deleted automatically within 30 days.
Nothing is kept after that. We hold no backups of messages, and calls are never recorded.
The companion device
The companion (the device that stays with the person you care for) has no account. To switch its family calls off, open Set up, then Family video calls. If you simply delete Clarity from it, its details on our server are removed automatically after 90 days unused.
