Privacy, in plain words

Last updated 13 October 2026

The short version. If you only use the day clock and reminders, nothing leaves the device. If you switch on family calls, we keep the few things needed to connect the right people, and delete messages after a day. There are no adverts, no tracking, and nothing is sold.

What we keep, and why

If you only use the day clock and reminders, Clarity collects nothing. The message and reminders you set are stored on the device and never sent to us or anyone else.

If you switch on family calls, a few things have to be kept on our server so the right people can reach the right companion:

Video and sound are carried by LiveKit and are not recorded. The rest is held by Supabase in the UK. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared. Family members can delete their account from inside the app at any time.

What we never do

Camera, microphone and photos

The camera and microphone are used only during a family video call, and the microphone when a family member records a voice note. The photo library is opened only when a family member chooses a photo to send. Clarity cannot use any of them at other times.

Deleting your information

Family members can delete their account from inside the app: open Family calls and tap “Delete my account”. This removes the sign-in and unpairs that phone from every companion. To switch family calls off on a companion, open Set up, then Family video calls.

For anything else, or to ask what we hold about you, email anthony@ajsoftwaredev.org and a real person will reply.

Who we are

Clarity is made by Anthony Jackson in the United Kingdom, and UK data protection law applies. If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app’s update notes will say so.
